Home Improvements
DO YOU NEED AN ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW?
Any Resident planning any landscaping and/or exterior home improvement is asked to submit a completed Property Resident Improvement Application. See form above. At a minimum, a sketch and narrative description of the proposed improvement(s) must accompany the completed application. The narrative description should include a listing of materials planned to be used in the project. Our review of an application will take up to seven days and must be completed prior to any work proceeding.
The following guidelines should help if you are unsure if your home improvement needs an Architectural Review. If there is ever a question, please call a member of the Architectural Committee or any Board Member.
General improvements that DO NOT require submission of an application for review:
- Repainting your home the same basic color,
- Replacing your roof with the same style and color of dimensional shingles,
- Any repairs to the original condition of the home due to storm or other damage, and
- Any work on the interior of the home.
General improvements that DO require Architectural review:
- Painting your home a different color or any exterior modification that changes or alters the appearance (e.g., re-roofing with a different style or color shingle);
- Any addition to the existing home or installation of additional structures or fences;
- Significant landscaping changes (e.g., the addition and or removal of planting beds, trees or shrubs).
- Adding a Satellite Dish or Basketball Goal.
SUMMARY
In summary, the Board and Architectural Committee would like to emphasize to all residents that maintaining Greenleaf Village property values must be a total team effort. Our yards, driveways, landscaping and building exteriors must be held to a high standard under our protective covenants. If we all do our part, our community will be the number one choice as a preferred place to live within Springboro.
